Very Good

I completed this game twenty years ago. It's quite a wonderful game. Around the fantasia land though I can't remember all the progressing details about the adventure of Rosella, but there're still many characters and beautifu scenry in my mind now, exspecially in the ending while Rosella leaving, she met the prince at the beach, and they're surely falling in love at that moment.

The difficulty of the monsters varied depending on the speed of the computer you were on. Back then there was not much variation in processor speed (for a platform, that is) so instead of querying an internal clock, timing routines were calculated by crunching numbers. A loop over the registers was assumed to take a certain time. This made it so that monsters moved at different speeds relative to Rosella depending on how fast your computer was! Easily doable on a PC AT or 286, absolutely impossible on a PC or PC/XT. At one spot you had to outrun the ogre in his own house -- a section of the game that was impossible to pass on a slower computer.

Very Good

This was a crazy hard game (even with the tip guide, which I admit to purchasing) - reading this review made me wax nostalgic!

Very Good

I had a lot of fun with this game as a 9-10 year old, but I agree that the troll was too difficult! I'm pretty sure that I never finished the game because of that stupid troll.

Excellent

I played this game when I was about ten, it's a fantastic adventure, though at times awfully challenging. The graphs are b-e-a-u-t-y-ful and da music is great!
KQ4 is truly a true classic among sierra adventures! i HIGHLY recommend it to everyone!
