Dean Erickson played the most fabulous take on Gabriel Knight- the perfect combination between the lack of motivated GK and sensitivity too. I found him to be far more interesting and engaging than Tim Curry in the other two games. Just like Timothy Dalton played the best James Bond ever in Living Daylights, so Dean Erickson brought Gabriel Knight to his fullest potential (along with the fabulous cast, THE BEAST WITHIN was the head and shoulders best of any of the games). GK2 was the only one of the series that I ever played over and over again of any game.
It was so fun to live there once in a while. :D

I wish I was a big shot director in Hollywood so I could hire Mr. Erickson for a role in my movie. He sure would deserve it. It's funny how when I played a Gabriel Knight game and finished it I had a terrible urge to go visit the places where he had had his adventures. Rennes la Chateu in the third one and Southern Germany in the second one. Of course a sad fact is that the New Orleans that is in the first game doesn't exist anymore. But it's great to see that Mr. Erickson is doing fine and I wish all the best for him.

I am just glad there was an interview! I just now finished playing the Beast Within and was about to cry because it was over :( So, for the first time for pretty much anything, I actually watched the credits to see who this oh-so-hot actor was who played Gabriel. I'll be darned that he isn't still acting. Although now I will have to get past episodes of Frasier! Dean Erickson did a fantastic job bringing the knight character to life! I am always a little slow on the uptake - playing this in 2006 and all but I had seen it rated in the all time best adventure games so I checked it out. Awesome game! Awesome actor! Just kind bites that there isn't a movie with him playing the character. Ah well, I will go play part 3 and imagine Dean playing it instead. Tim Curry who?

Just read the article. Good work. Dean and the others sure did a great job with that game.

I bought the game 8-9 years ago. Just cleaned out a closet, found the game, and played it again - great entertainment...excellent acting, good music and compelling story.

Mr. D. Erickson is a great actor and the one and only real "face" fot Gabriel Knight. He is the only thinkable person to play Gabriels role in a film.
I am glad Mr. Erickson is doing great, his life sure is colourful:D

The GK series is fantastico, I hope JJ will write more games.

I sure wish Dean was in a tv series about Gabriel Knight, a most interesting fellow. I loved every minute of the game and he was wonderful in it. A great character that should have been expounded upon. I wish Dean all the best!

Great interview! I'm glad Mr. Erickson is doing well. He seems to have been a real good sport when he was involved with Gabriel Knight 2. Happy days!

What an extraordinarily fun coincidence; this interview. Someone at Just Adventure is running the Polls again (scroll down a bit and look in the left-hand column).

Mr. Erickson is one of the choices...and I voted for him. Go give a little support to our point 'n' click pal Dean!

Gosh, it would be so much fun to see a movie version with Dean (and Joanna Takahashi as Grace Nakimura and Peter Lucas as Von Glower). I really enjoy seeing familiar faces again like this.
