Being a childhood friend of Craig's into my 20's, I can tell you Mr. Derrick's influences included: the Infocom Zork series of games, Seven Cities of Gold, Heart of Africa, Raiders of The Lost Ark for the Atari, The early console Star Wars games, movies about Ninja's, V the television series, comic books, and of course, Star Wars itself. His mom's support for his interest in gaming and other elements allowed him to foster several friendships.
I feel that Craig understood full well the value of gaming as a way for people of all ages to earn new friendships and reinforce existing ones. It's obvious to me that Craig's wanted to help enrich the lives of others in the same way. I seriously never would have guessed though that he would have achieved this success. He's changed so much from the "kid" I played Atari Adventure with. I'm very impressed and quite glad to have known him. Go Craig Go!
