I love GOG's attitude towards DRM. They're probably right; I bet in the future very few games will be released with restrictive DRM; it's just too big of an annoyance for legit users. Of course, everyone is tempted to pirate when a game costs $60 or more; it's a lot easier to feel noble and pay cash when the game in question is $10.
Even GOG-games can't run on every possible configuration, sometimes you have to do a little tweaking of your own. Did you try the excellent community-support on the GOG site?
I used to buy games from GOG, but had a problem getting a game to work with my system. I tried contacting thier tech support many, many times, only to be ignored. I finally e-mailed a request to either refund my money, give me a credit towards a different game or close my account. After the third time sending that request, they closed my account. Not once did anyone at the company answer any of my e-mails, or try to resolve the issue.
Be warned,
