It has been more than a decade since Tex is last seen donning his fedora. Nice interview. What I've enjoyed most from the Tex Murphy games and also the Three Cards games has been the talent these guys show in creating puzzles that fall into the "just right" category, at least for me, an admittedly regular guy with average puzzle-solving abilities. Too many games have very obtuse or difficult puzzles that cause me to quit in frustration. Or, in the case of casual games, some of them can be so absurdly easy that I completely lose interest. I've always admired the ability of these guys to somehow always hit that "sweet spot", no matter what kind of game they choose to do.
That's what I like most. However, I cannot overlook the wonderful stories and character creation, both also vital in creating a great game, and difficult to pull off. I'll be following these guys no matter what their next project, and beyond. My sincere best wishes to them.
Excellent article, I've never played a Tex Murphy game but I am very tempted to jump on GOG and but the last one, as well as backing the Kickstarter. :-)
