The Quest for Glory series is among my favorite adventure game series ever. It combines the great fun and imagination of classic role-playing games with the skill and thinking of classic adventure games. This, plus the simple but enticing idea of becoming the hero of a town and rescuing it from evil, makes the game compelling. This fourth installment of the series, Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of…

I love Quest of Glory, it is excellent game series.
But I am really frustrated, I cant make it at swamp. Every time my game crashed. I play in dosbox, I slowed down my computer and it crashed. I also tried moslo but nothing has changed. Maybe I did something wrong. Could anybody help me get through the swamp???
ben: The game is well known for it being badly programmed. It has hundreds of bugs and creates huge problems on machines slightly faster than the hardware that did exist when the game came out. Not everyone keeps their old computers, but people expect to be able to play older games a few years after the original release.
i don't think it is fair to complain about a game not running on hardware that didn't exist when the game came out. this game ran great on my 386, just like it was supposed to. of course it might have some trouble running on a computer that is several hundred times faster, using a completely different OS. This review isn't about the game itself, but about playing it on new hardware. You should mention that it won't work well on new machines, but not dwell on it. The original king's quest came on 5.25 floppy. should you complain about that because modern machines lack a 5.25 floppy drive? that would make just as much sense. QFG4 is the best of the series in a lot of ways. Boo to the haters.
This game is one of my favorites!
With the monk's tomb part..
New computers run the game alot faster than usual, this is the reason why it crashes.. if u run the game using "DOS BOX" and slow the speed down to about 20% you should be fine ;]... (to slow the speed down hold "Ctrl" and press "F11". Just Google "DOS BOX" and you're bound to find it!
Oh, & the order of the rituals on the tomb are:
mouth, bone, blood, cloud, diamond, sun,
cloud, heart, diamond.

Too Good... Excellent... Outstanding...
For people having trouble try the walkthroughs by CyricZ. he has even written excellent walkthroughs for other QFG games too.
Ashley, in which part of the game does your game not function properly?
I don't know if anyone still plays Quest for Glory IV but I just got it, I had it before and loved it. This time around though my computer won't run it properly. My computer runs on Windows XP and I ran a compatibility program and the game works untill a certain point then stops and shows some error messages. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to get it to stop the glitched or if its just something i have to deal with. Thanks
I bought the game years ago, and it has always been a favorite of mine, but i lost the manual...can anyone email me some of the formulas? I need the rehydration solution, and cant get it because of the lost manual..thanks :D
